​​​​Teaching staff mobility is the area of activity that enables staff of higher education institutions holding an Erasmus University Charter (EUC) to spend a teaching period between 2 days and 2 months at a higher education institution in one of the European Union member countries.

All the mobilities must be completed until May 31, 2020.

Total quota for the mobility is 3.

OBJECTIVE
  • ​To encourage higher education institutions to broaden and enrich the range and content of courses they offer,
  • To allow staff who do not have the possibility to participate in a mobility scheme, to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of academic staff from higher education institutions and from invited staff of enterprises in other European countries,
  • To promote exchange of expertise and experience on pedagogical methods
  • To create links between higher education institutions and with enterprises
  • To motivate staff to become mobile and to assist them in preparing a mobility period.

HOW TO APPLY
Interested academic staff can apply by filling the Application Form and Additional Support Form​.

As part of the application you must complete the below required documents:
  • ​Official "Invitation Letter" from host university.
  • "Teaching Mobility Agreement" signed and stamped by all the sides. STA is a daily basis activity and a grant payment is made for teaching days. For this reason, in the Staff Mobility for Teaching Mobility Agreement must be indicated on a daily-basis it has to comprise a minimum of 8 hours of teaching per week (or any shorter period of stay).
  • The receiving institution should be a Programme Country Higher Education Institution awarded with an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) and having signed an interinstitutional agreement with İstanbul Şehir University before the mobility​.

Please kindly note that in order to apply for Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching, you should consult the Dean of the Faculty for initial approval of your proposed mobility and absence (ensuring any teaching/work responsibilities can be covered).

Language training and attendance of conferences, seminars and workshops should not represent the majority of the total Erasmus-funded teaching days per sending institution and academic year (per single grant agreement).

DURATION OF ACTIVITIES
In order to provide mobility opportunities for more colleagues, STA activity is limited to 5 days by İstanbul Şehir University. If the teaching activity lasts less than 2 days or the teaching hours are less than the minimum requirement, the activity is considered as ineligible and the participant should reimburse the grant.​

SELECTION PROCEDURES
Full-time academic staff employed at İstanbul Şehir University can be eligible to benefit from Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching. A valid Erasmus+ Inter-institutional Agreement with the respective host university within the relevant field of teaching is required.​
The applications will be evaluated based on the following criterias:
(1) Job experience at İstanbul Şehir University:
  • ​​< 1 year = not eligible to apply
  • 1- 2 years = 1 point
  • 2-3 years = +3 points
  • 3-5 years = +5 points
  • 5-7 years = +7 points
  • > 7 years = 9 points
(2) Erasmus Faculty/Department Coordinators at the time of application: +5 points
(3) For each previous participation in the Erasmus Staff Mobility within KA103 (Erasmus+ Staff Exchange between the program countries): -5 points
(4) For each previous participation in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility within KA107 (Erasmus+ Staff Exchange between Program and Partner Countries): -2 points
IMPORTANT! The staff who have been selected in the previous application calls, but have not started his/her mobility yet will also evaluated as the previous participants.
(5) Members of the Department/College/Institute taking part in the Erasmus+ KA103 program for the first time: +5 points
(6) Participation in Erasmus programme in the country of nationality: -10 points
(7) Academic/Administrative staff who have directly contributed to the ŞEHİR Erasmus+ exchange activities by finding new Erasmus+ partners from Europe: +5 points 
(8) Disadvantaged staff (The statement from a doctor or other relevant authority confirming the special needs should be submitted to the International Relations Office during the application period): +10 points
(9) Relatives of martyr or veteran (an official document must be attached to the application form – Only for Turkish applicants)*: +5 points
*Muharip gaziler ve bunların eş ve çocukları ile harp şehitlerinin eş ve çocuklarının yanı sıra 12/4/1991 tarih ve 3713 sayılı Terörle Mücadele Kanunu’nun 21. Maddesine göre “kamu görevlilerinden yurtiçinde ve yurtdışında görevlerini ifa ederlerken veya sıfatları kalkmış olsa bile bu görevlerini yapmalarından dolayı terör eylemlerine muhatap olarak yaralanan, engelli hâle gelen, ölen veya öldürülenler”in eş ve çocukları ile 23 Temmuz 2016 tarih ve 667 sayılı KHK’nin 7. Maddesi uyarınca, 15/07/2016 tarihinde gerçekleştirilen darbe teşebbüsü ve terör eylemi ile bu eylemin devamı niteliğindeki eylemler sebebiyle hayatını kaybedenlerin eş ve çocukları veya malul olan siviller ile bu kişilerin eş ve çocukları Erasmus personel hareketliliğine başvurmaları halinde önceliklendirilir.
(10) +5 points for the staff, who satisfy the below language (English) proficiency criteria:
  • ​​​KPDS/YDS/YÖKDİL: 70 (Level C)
  • TOEFL IBT: 75 or graduation from a university where the language of instruction is English.

In case of an equivalency, the preference will go to those who never benefited from the mobility before.

GRANTS
Academic staff may be awarded an Erasmus grant to help cover their living expenses during their mobility period. Grant payment is subject to the amount of applications received, potential destination of the applicants and availability of funds from the Turkish National Agency. Please note that Erasmus grants are only contribution, meaning may not suffice for all your expenses and participants are responsible for their own living expenses during the exchange. 

Amount of daily individual grants and of the travel support based on distance between the partner institutions are announced by Turkish National Agency. Total amount you receive is calculated on the basis of days you actually spend in exchange.

The rules pertaining to the dedication of grants and reimbursement of the travelling and visa expenses are as follows:
  • ​The daily/weekly grant which will be given to the staff that will benefit from staff teaching mobility covers expenses such as accommodation, food, communication, local travel visa and insurance. For those expenses no extra payment is made.
  • The maximum amount of daily/weekly grant which can be paid to the staff is the amount calculated for the days when the teaching activity is carried out with the partner institution as approved in the teaching programme / work plan of the staff. If the teaching activity is carried out on a day that is an official holiday or weekend, the grant is paid if only the activity has been demonstrated on the teaching programme / work plan as such.
  • No grant is given for days without activity or for days in which teaching activity is not certified.
  • The Grant of the staff who participates in the mobility is paid in two installments. 80% of the grant is paid before the mobility. Remaining 20% is paid after the staff returns and submits the "Certificate of Attendance" and "Activity Report" to the International Relations Office.
  • Staff can benefit from Erasmus mobility without a grant. In this case, the same application and selection process is applied.​

ERASMUS+ WITHOUT GRANT OPTION
Participants who are entitled to receive an Erasmus grant may abandon their right to receiving the grant or eligible applicants may benefit from Erasmus staff mobility through "without grant option" by declaring to the International Office that they want to use this right after the announcement of results.

ADDITIONAL GRANT OPPORTUNITY FOR STAFF WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Additional grants are available for staff with special needs who wish to participate in Erasmus+ programme and where participation would not be possible without extra financial support. In order to learn more about additional grant opportunities for participants with special needs, please get in contact with International Relations Office.

BEFORE THE MOBILITY
Participants should follow the steps listed below and submit the necessary documents to the International Relations Office. (Please click the title of the document to download it): 
  • ​​"Staff Mobility Agreement for Teaching" signed and stamped by all the parties.
  • Copy of Passport (information pages)
  • Copy of Visa
  • Euro Bank Account. Participants should open a EURO bank account and send the bank account details to the International Relations Office.
  • Grant Agreement. The grant agreement is signed by ŞEHİR and the participant before the beginning of the mobility. Original signatures are used, and it is not possible to use digital signatures for grant agreement.

AFTER THE MOBILITY
  • Confirmation of Stay​. According to the Erasmus+ regulations, the actual duration of your mobility period has to be confirmed by a certificate.
  • Mobility Tool Final Report. At the end of your mobility period, you will receive an e-mail from European Commission about your Erasmus+ staff mobility. Please complete the survey within 30 days after your arrival to Turkey.
  • Copy of Passport (Entry and Exit Stamps)
