Dr. Altay ATLI
Dr. Altay Atlı is a lecturer at the Department of International Relations, Koç University, and a partner of Reanda Turkey, a member firm of Reanda International, which is China’s leading auditing and consultancy network and one of the twenty largest networks in the world. A strong believer in the value of constructive dialogue between academia and business community as well between theory and practice, he combines his academic work with business consulting, in order to offer customized, analytically robust and theoretically informed solutions that are grounded in empirical reality. Dr. Atlı teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on international political economy, Asian economies and Turkish foreign policy, while at the same time offering clients business advisory services focusing on opportunities and threats emerging in the global economy with a particular focus on Asia. Having graduated from the German High School in Istanbul, Dr. Atlı obtained a B.A. degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, a M.A. degree in International Business from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, and a Ph.D. degree in Political Sciences and International Relations from Boğaziçi University. Dr. Atlı was affiliated with Boğaziçi University’s Asian Studies Center as well as Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Center, and Shanghai University’s Center for Global Studies. He also worked as research coordinator at Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK); was chosen a "Global Emerging Voices Fellow” by Torino World Affairs Institute, in partnership with the German Marshall Fund of the United States, Australian National University, and Stiftung Mercator; and he was recognized as a “Young Academics Fellow” by the Global Relations Forum. Dr. Atlı is an expert member at the China Network of Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD), Turkey’s leading business association, and a columnist at the Hong Kong based international news and opinion portal Asia Times. Moreover he regularly appears on programs in channels like Bloomberg, BBC World, Turkish Radio Television (TRT), TvNet, CCTV, CGTN, Channel News Asia, China Radio International, commenting on developments in the global economy and Turkey’s relations with Asian countries.
