Youth Congress of Social Sciences on Modern Turkey will be held on 28-30 April, 2017 in İstanbul Şehir University West Campus. The congress will be organized by İstanbul Şehir University Center of Modern Türkiye Studies in association with the Marmara University International Relations Club, Şehir Sociology Club and Şehir Diplomacy Club, under the title "Freedom and Security in Modern Turkey".
The main objective of the congress is to provide an academic platform and an opportunity to cooperate with the graduate and undergraduate students who has academically interest in the issues on Turkey’s social, political, economic and cultural modernization process in the last two centuries by examining this topic.
This year conference will focus on the issues of Freedom and Security in the Modern Turkey, especially focusing on topics such as: Political system, foreign policy, sociology, history, psychology, international relations, immigration, freedom, identity, faith groups and the military, defence, literature, philosophy and law. Papers and panel proposals on the wide range of Modern Turkish studies are also welcomed.
The congress will be conducted in Turkish and English. Congress open to undergraduate and graduate students. Deadline for application: 15th of March 2017.
For paper proposals, (abstracts max. 400 words with short bio max. 300 words).
Panel proposals are all welcomed.
